Front Team Member

ABOUT THE ROLE: The Front Team is the heartbeat of The Rock Store. You're often the first person a guest meets and the last person they see before leaving. Whether someone is stopping in for fuel, picking up groceries, grabbing supplies for an Owyhee adventure, or visiting for the first time, you help make their experience worth remembering. This is about more than running a register: it's about making people feel welcome, taking pride in our store, and helping build everyone's favorite destination.

WHAT THIS JOB IS: - Being a host: Welcome guests, start conversations, answer questions, and help people feel at home. - Taking ownership: Keep shelves stocked, merchandise organized, and the store clean without waiting to be asked every time. - Learning our products: Know what we sell, from local meats and groceries to merchandise and supplies, so you can make helpful recommendations. - Being dependable: Show up ready to work, communicate with your team, and follow through on responsibilities. - Handling the details: Operate the register accurately, follow fuel and store procedures, and pay attention to the little things. - Working as a team: Help other departments when appropriately trained and support the overall guest experience.

WHAT THIS JOB ISN'T: - Just standing behind a register. There's always an opportunity to help a guest or improve the store. - Waiting to be told every little thing. We want team members who notice what needs attention and take initiative. - Treating guests like transactions. We're here to build relationships, not just ring up purchases. - Saying “that's not my job” whenever something needs doing. Everyone contributes within their training and responsibilities. - Cutting corners on cleanliness or accuracy. The details matter, even on slow days.

SUCCESS: Guests leave glad they stopped; the store is clean, stocked and welcoming; transactions are accurate; the team works together and improves. WHO THRIVES: Someone friendly, dependable, curious, organized, willing to learn and proud of their work. Prior retail experience not required.
